It takes courage and readiness to seek out and reach out, to begin the inner work of psychotherapy and the somatic, mind / body work of trauma therapy. I am glad you’ve arrived here.
Much of the time we live our lives on automatic pilot, unaware of how our thought patterns, emotions, circumstances and traumatic experiences may be adversely affecting our mental and physical health.
Psychotherapy is the process of slowing down and stepping back from our daily lives and our mind's constant chatter in order to pay deep attention to our thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations. In this guided process we can begin to heal, change and grow.
Trauma therapy is the gentle, supported process of uncovering past trauma, taking charge of our own life, and beginning to heal.
Helping You Heal from Trauma through embodiment.
Reclaiming Your Body.
We cannot change painful situations or traumatic experiences of the past, but we can work together to identify and heal old wounds, understand and resolve current life challenges and learn to live more consciously and mindfully in the present. As the quote says, “Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives.” Feeling more content and whole is possible!
I provide my training, perspective and experience to guide you in this process. I help you feel your feelings, connect to your body, and tell your story, at your own pace.
My approach is holistic and mind/ body oriented. Most importantly, treatment is tailored to you and your individual needs. As a trauma specialist my approach is somatic, or embodiment based, as it is well established that trauma is stored in the body. Somatic-based treatment modalities that I specialize in are conscious breathing, embodied awareness techniques, mindful movement, and Trauma-Sensitive yoga.
Trauma creates change you don't choose. Healing creates change you do choose.
